LOTTO FUNDED - National Lotteries Commission supports St Josephs

Thank you to the NLC for their support to St Joseph’s.

Their grant of R1,2 million for 2016 was allocated to operational expenses which included food, training and salaries.

The NLC relies on funds from the proceeds of the National Lottery. The Lotteries Act guides the way in which NLC funding may be allocated. The intention of NLC funding is to make a difference to the lives of all South Africans, especially those more vulnerable and to improve the sustainability of the beneficiary organisations. Available funds are distributed to registered and qualifying non-profit organisations in the fields of charities; arts, culture and national heritage; and sport and recreation. By placing its emphasis on areas of greatest need and potential, the NLC contributes to South Africa’s development.

Donation of Tablets by Elia!

Donation of tablets by Elia!

Thank you!

The tablets are ideal to engage the children as seen in the pictures.  Standing in a standing frame can be painful and boring, but when a child is distracted by an interactive game on the tablet they can easily forget about the physical activity like standing.

The other great thing about the tablets are that children with limited function can also make use of the devices as seen in the photographs.  Children with limited function can be guided by the therapist to complete the task, like touching the screen to reveal an object.
