Donation - Calore (Premium Fireplaces)

For the second time in only a few months,  Calore who has donated pellets for the echo friendly fire places in SJH’s five wards.

The “safe stoves” were installed last year as part of a major upgrade and redesign of the Home.

Each ward has its own fire place and no air-conditioners have been fitted to the new spaces.

Here, staff from St Joseph’s are replenishing the fireplace in Protea Ward while the young patients are happy to watch.

Vanjaar is die derde jaar wat die St Joseph’s-liefdadigheidsorganisasie die geleentheid het om die welbekende Stellenberg Ope Tuine vir die fondsinsamelingsprojek, “Adopt a Bed”, te gebruik.

Die Stellenberg-tuine het aangepas by die erge droogte wat die Kaap ervaar en nuwe planne vir 300 jaaroue tuine word gemaak! Kry die geleentheid om dié bekende internasionale tuine vanuit die 18de eeu te besigtig en te waardeer. Stellenberg Tuine het 12 areas, wat onder meer insluit: Die Wit Tuin, Paradystuin, Groente Potager, Partierre Tuin, Aromatiese Kruietuin, Wynstoktuin, Tuin met Mure en die Tuin van Bepeinsing insluit.

Wanneer: 11 en 12 November 2017 van 09:30-17:30

Koste beloop R50 per volwassene en kinders o/12 geniet gratis toegang. Slegs kontant word aanvaar.

Ligte verversings is beskikbaar teen R30.

*Fondse gaan regstreeks na St Joseph’s.

Stellenberg Ope Tuine


Official opening of the new Playroom

 

The Playroom at St Joseph’s Home for Chronically Ill Children was officially opened on Monday (11 September) as one of the final stages concluding its three-year renovation programme to the hospital. Rotary Signal Hill (District 9350) and Rotary Westerstede (Germany) donated R100,000 towards renovating and changing the playroom. Other donors were the Dieter and Bettina Wulkow Foundation (computers) and Conny Keller and Friends (play equipment, chairs and tables). The playroom has a general play area for general activities, a television, computers, small reading room with books and a music room.  Pictured here are Thea Patterson (director), Seumas Reynolds (Rotary) and Mike Saxby (Rotary).
