Patient Welfare

Our care for medically fragile children extends far beyond nursing care and rehabilitation therapy. We ensure that children are given clothes and nutritious meals and have what they need to make their stay as comfortable as possible. St. Joseph’s has a toy library with educational and age-appropriate toys and stimulating activities are arranged and supervised by Child and Youth Care Workers.

Part of patient welfare is to organise the logistics of and transport to hospital visits and check-ups. Parents are supported with parenting programmes to help them understand their child’s condition and to ensure medication adherence. Children who are mainstream learners attend their school if possible as well as St. Joseph’s Special School that shares the same premises. After school homework support is provided to ensure that children keep the momentum on their learning jouney.
